PRESS RELEASE
STATE COLLEGE, PA – Kish Bank has announced the distribution of over $10,000 in charitable year-end contributions to community organizations during the month of December, in addition to the Bank’s annual 2021 contributions and community support of more than $236,000. The supplementary year-end contributions were issued to provide extra support in consideration of the continued challenges faced by local organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic. Following nominations of many local charities by Kish team members, the financial contributions were made to 18 local nonprofits. Additionally, Kish was pleased to direct more than $20,000 in contributions to local charities from outside sources who are business partners of Kish.
In making the announcement, CEO William Hayes stated, “As another year of the pandemic reached an end, we recognized that the communities in our four-county market have continued to face unprecedented needs arising from the pandemic and its effects. In line with Kish’s core values of financial betterment for our communities, we concluded that extra support for community organizations was very much warranted.”
In addition to the direct financial contributions, Kish provided hundreds of doughnuts to Emergency Department and COVID-19 Unit healthcare personnel at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College, Geisinger Hospital in Lewistown, and Penn Highlands Hospital in Huntingdon in recognition of their tremendous dedication during such challenging times. The doughnuts were delivered along with letters of appreciation from Kish team members.
“The latest COVID-19 surge driven by the Omicron variant dwarfed any previously experienced levels of admissions and illness, and severely stretched our local hospital resources,” said Hayes. “The most critical resources of all, of course, have been the healthcare professionals who continue to meet the unprecedented demand for care, and we wanted them to know how deeply they are appreciated.”
Kish also continued its annual holiday program of issuing $10,000 in Giant Supermarket gift cards to its more than 230 team members. These “no strings attached” gift cards were available at the discretion of each employee to be given directly to families or individuals in need, or to charities addressing food insecurity in local communities.
