Kish Bank Presents Record Donation to Pink Zone

September 16, 2020

PRESS RELEASE

STATE COLLEGE, PA – Kish Bank presented Pennsylvania Pink Zone with a $52,579 donation toward Pink Zone’s efforts to fight breast cancer, resulting from Kish’s annual “Power of Pink” fundraising campaign earlier this year. The three-week campaign raised an all-time record amount, beating Kish’s previous highest total of $46,324 in 2019. The donation brings the grand total that Kish employees have raised for Pink Zone to more than $264,000 since 2012.

Bill Hayes, Chairman and CEO of Kish Bank, presented the check remotely to Pink Zone in lieu of a group celebration, following current safety guidelines.

Kish Bank, represented by Bill Hayes, Chairman and CEO, presents a $52,579 donation to Pink Zone.

“The Power of Pink results were truly breathtaking this year. Every year we set a very high bar as our goal, but it was astonishing to see the final number of $52,579 in our campaign this year,” said Hayes. He continued by thanking all Kish employees, customers, and community members who contributed to the Power of Pink campaign: “You are all remarkable, and you certainly do elevate the quality of life in our communities.”

Upon hearing the results, recently retired Pink Zone Executive Director Sue Woodring stated, “I am absolutely astounded by this number, and my heart is filled with gratitude to the Kish Bank team and their tireless efforts to do what many would have thought to be an impossibility. To raise $52,579 during such an unsettling time is truly a testament to Kish’s leadership and the giving hearts of its team members.”

Woodring, who has retired from her position as Executive Director of Pink Zone after serving for three years, expressed her deep gratitude for Kish’s commitment to Pink Zone over the past eight years.

“Together, Pink Zone and Kish Bank are making a difference in our community and beyond. It’s the difference between being able to distribute money for upgraded software for mammograms, or providing funds to survivors who can’t afford gas for their car to come for treatment,” said Woodring. “Kish is a small-town bank that does gigantic things in our community. Their employees are amazing, and Pink Zone is grateful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
